Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when we meet?
At the start of each session, I will confirm the ethics and guidelines that I work within. I'll remind you that everything you say is kept confidential and invite you to say if at any point you feel I am not the right coach for you, or the work we are doing does not feel like the right fit.
In the first session we usually work together on setting your goal and the steps to achieving this, while in subsequent sessions we will review your progress and if your goal still feels like the right one for you.
As in all sessions, I will ask questions and listen non-judgmentally to what you say. I may probe a bit deeper into specific areas if I think this will help you in achieving your goal, but at all times I encourage you to say what you want and what you don't want. This is very much "your time".
How often do we meet?
Depending on what you want to focus on, we will meet either weekly or fortnightly to begin with and then space this out to monthly/bimonthly based on your preference.
How long does a session last?
This is usually an hour although the first, goal setting session, is usually longer.
How many sessions should I have?
You decide how many sessions you want and for most people this is about six. Whilst this is flexible, I ask people to let me know before their last session so that we can have a satisfactory conclusion to our work together.
Do I need to bring anything?
Notepaper and pen, or some other means to capture your goal, actions and key points as they arise.
